Um die Masse der beiden gegenläuögen Kolben A B und der mit diesen sich bewegenden Theile auszugleichen, wird statt eines festen Cylinders C, wie im Haupt-Patent, ein hin- und hergehender Cylinder C angeordnet, in welchem die Kolben arbeiten und welcher selbst in einem festen Cylinder C1 geführt ist (Fig. ι und 2). Durch Pleuelstange E steht, wie im Haupt-Patent, der untere Kolben A mit der mittleren Kröpfung oder Kurbel D der Kraftwelle in Verbindung, und der obere Vertheilungskolben B ist mit den Seitenkurbeln F der Welle durch das Querhaupt J, das an den mittleren Schaft S1 angelenkt ist, und durch die nur durch Mittellinien angedeuteten Pleuelstangen G verbunden. Die Kanäle im Kolben B sind mit K bezeichnet, und in dem hin- und hergehenden Cylinder C bezeichnen H die Kanäle für den frischen Dampf und / diejenigen für den Auspuffdampf.
