Developing and fixing cans for tape films There are developing and
Fixing cans known that allow the film tape by a movable, with the
Beginning: inserting the film guide piece connected to the film into the can. These
are limited to cans with spiral film guide walls that open at the top
are, .that the film-guiding driver piece can attack the film tape. That
Film tape must slide along the walls as it is drawn into the guides. The advantage,
provide the film edge guide pulleys by Lias film tape; unsupported only
at the edges and that the film is damaged by touching it
the walls and the removal of air bubbles promoted during development
cannot be used here. On the other hand, there are also film tape development boxes
known, in which the film tape by means of the paper interleaving strip in (the
Guides of two spiral disks is inserted. Because with increasing film length
the friction of the belt in the spiral grooves is getting bigger, this can is for
long film tapes cannot be used. The developing and fixing can according to the present
Invention idea shows a new way to get long film tapes out of the cassette or
from the film reel through a movable from the center to the circumference of the can,
Film guide piece connected to the beginning of the film into the guides of film edge guide discs
to be introduced by a pivotable between the film edge guide disks from the circumference
Attacks bracket at the beginning of the film, which can be guided around the film edge guide disks
Bracket is attached. By rotating the bracket holder around the film guide washers
the film tape is drawn into the guides of the disks.

The lockable Doset contains the two with spiral grooves that are used to guide the film
provided guide washers 3 and 4, of which 3 carries the cylindrical extension 5,
on which the guide disk 4 is not rotatably fitted and the film insertion slot
6 (Fig. 2 and 3) carries. The guide disk 3 is connected to the can 2 by means of cams 7
secured against rotation. There is a cylinder ring 8 around the guide disks 3 and 4
rotatably mounted, which by means of the connecting cross 9 (Fig. 2 and 4) with
the twist grip 1o can be turned. The arms of the cross 9 lie in
the notches i i (FIGS. i and 4) of the cylinder ring 8. By the cylinder approach
5 of the guide disk 3 of the cylindrical slide valve 12 is mounted, its
Inner. The space m forms, which carries the recess 13 and the edge 14 as
Cut-off knife is formed. At the lower end the final ski carries 12
Openings 15, which connect the space a via the liquid openings

in "the film development and fixing room b: ensure. On the cylinder ring 8 is
a flexible, bow-like strip 17 is attached, the free end of which the fastening device
18 (Fig. 2) for the indicated film leader 19 carries. The film spool or film cassette
2o lies within the cylindrical end slide 12, guided by the cams
21 'at the bottom of the can: 2 and 22 in the lid 23 of the closing slide. For film cassettes
the retaining ring 24 is provided on the bottom of the can 2. The locking devices 25
and 26 are designed so that the cylindrical gate valve is closed
Film insertion slot 6 cannot be pulled out upwards, whereas the lid
23 can then be withdrawn. 27 is the overflow and drainage opening of the can.
A hole 28 provides the possibility of tight films
by rotating the film spool, e.g. B. by means of a slotted key, .the film
to postpone.
Verbindung steht, erfolgen.Use and mode of operation In order to insert the tape film directly from the cassette, e.g. Leica cassette, or a film reel into the can, with the exclusion of light, the procedure is as follows: The cylindrical gate valve 12 is pulled out, the lid including the connecting cross 9 lifted off and the guide disks 3 and 4 including the cylinder ring 8 removed. After the guide disk 4 has been pulled off the cylinder attachment 5 of the guide disk 3, the cylinder ring 8, with the strip 17, can also be removed. Now z. B.. The protruding film end of a Leica cassette with the narrow side in: the fastening device 18 of the strip 17 is clamped and the cylinder ring 8 with strips 17 comes to sit in the space a, while the end of the film attached to the strip 17 protrudes through the film insertion slot 6 into the space b and the lower edge of the film is guided in the inner beginning of the spiral groove of 3. The guide disk is then attached while observing that the introduction of the upper edge of the film or of the clamp 18 into the spiral groove of FIG. 4 is also ensured. The lid with the connecting cross 9 is then placed on the can and tightly closed with it. It should be noted that the arms of the cross 9 in: the notches ii of the cylinder ring 8 are inserted. Finally, the cylindrical shut-off valve 12 together with the cover 23 is pushed in so that the recess 13 leaves the film insertion slot free. The space a is thus closed in a light-tight manner. Now the rotary handle is ok, with it: the cross 9 and the cylinder ring 8 are turned to the right, and the strip 17 pulls the film off the spool or from the cassette and introduces it into the spiral grooves. For film tapes that are difficult to unwind, the possibility of re-feeding through the bore 28, for example, by means of a slotted socket wrench with which the reel is rotated, can be provided. There are, of course, many possibilities for reaching this post. B. with the help of the FilmperfoTierung and pin wheel or friction wheel, etc. Now when the film is completely drawn in, the rotary slide is turned to the right by means of the handle on the cover 23 so that the dead end of the film is cut off and the film insertion slot 6 is closed. The slide cover 23 is then pulled off and the empty film reel or cassette is removed by overturning the can. The development process, etc. can now be carried out in a known manner by filling the required Baidefluids into the space a, which is connected to the development space b through the openings 15 and 16.
