Das Zifferblatt mit Rückwand hat in der Mitte eine Ausdrehung, an deren Rand 24 von einander isolirte, gleich grofse Messingplättchen ppp aufgeschraubt sind. Von jedem dieser Plättchen führt ein übersponnener Kupferdraht III nach den oberhalb des Zifferblattes auf einem Brettchen s angeordneten, mit Löchern versehenen 24 Messingklemmen PPP, welche durch darüber angebrachte Stundenzahlen die Tag- und Nachtstunden bezeichnen, von ι bis 12 Uhr Vormittags und von 1 bis 12 Uhr Nachmittags. Zu diesem Zweck ist unterhalb der Zimmerklemmen eine Querschiene 11 mit Theilbohrungen befestigt, in welche die Stöpsel eingesteckt werden. Die Federn F F₁ der Stromschlufsklammern reichen so weit auf das Zifferblatt, dafs sie in den Bereich der Minutenzeigerspitze kommen, welche Spitze beim Weitergehen der Uhr diese beiden Stromschlufsfedern mit einander in Berührung bringt, wodurch Stromschlufs stattfindet. Der Strom geht von der (hier nicht gezeichneten) Batterie nach der Klemmschraube k, durch die Schleiffeder f, den Reifen r, die Schleiffeder b, eine der Messingklemmen p, den Leitungsdraht / nach der entsprechenden Stundenklemme P, von da durch die Leitungsschnur C₁, Fig. 1, nach der einen Stromschlufsfeder -F₁, von dieser über den Zeiger auf die zweite Feder F, durch die Leitungsschnur c nach den damit verbundenen Zimmerklemmen K, von da nach der (hier nicht gezeichneten) elektrischen Glocke des betreffenden Zimmers und durch den Leitungsdraht zur Batterie zurück.
