Device for surface hardening of workpieces for the purpose of hardening

known devices is proceeded approximately as follows: The workpiece to be hardened
is heated to a dark red glow by stationary or moving burners. The workpiece
itself can be set up here to be fixed or movable. The temperature determination
takes place by estimating according to time or by determining the glow color. In most

The workpiece is immersed in a quenching liquid after heating. Disadvantage here
one is the imprecise determination of the heating temperature and the other time
the interruption that arises between heating and quenching. At the raw
Type of temperature determination is almost never a specific uniform temperature point
which is most appropriate for the type of material in question. the
Differences in this emotional determination can be disadvantageous on the one hand
affect the type of hardening and, on the other hand, unnecessary time and gas consumption
cause. The purpose of the present invention is seen as switching off
the burner flames and the turning on of the quenchant at precisely specified
Temperatures and by the accuracy of the definition time and gas losses

between heating and deterring to a minimum. this will
achieved according to the idea of the invention in that by a pyrometer at a
tolerance-limited temperature, all necessary switching movements automatically
be initiated. The use of pyrometers to determine certain temperatures
in connection with devices for the supply of suitable combustion agents
already known for operating ovens. When hardening the surface by means of
however, such an arrangement is new to the fan flame. Especially for this type of
Hardening, however, in which the success depends on the unconditional adherence to the so-called
AC, - point depends on the arrangement of a pyrometer, through which connects
with switching devices, both the supply of the gas and the quenching agent at the same time
is operated, significant advantages. The pyrometer can be used in a wide variety of ways

By thermo-electric or electro-optical
Relay control ensures short switching times. The switching device
can be set up in such a way that a movement inevitably means that the
Fuel gas and the simultaneous turning on of the quenching agent takes place. Here
the holes for the heating flames are also advantageous for the passage of the quenching agent
set up. The device should be based on the drawing for a to be hardened
