Description
Burner operated with compressed gas for signal lanterns For signal lanterns, especially for those for railway signals, the lanterns must be lit from can be monitored from a remote control point. As is well known, this happens either through the rear light, which is visible directly from the control point Signal lantern or, in the case of electric lanterns, by means of monitoring light bulbs, which are in the power supply circuit of the signal lanterns are switched on. Thermal contacts were also asked for or thermocouples built into such signal lanterns, which when the light sources go out the signal lights automatically report the fault.
Such monitoring devices influenced by the waste heat from the light source also work perfectly with signal lanterns with gas incandescent light, if the burner goes out due to interruption of the gas supply. However, if the incandescent body breaks the desired feedback of the malfunction is not received because the flame of the burner remains unchanged continues to burn and the monitoring device continues to heat.
This disadvantage of the signal lamps provided with a thermal switch or the like with gas incandescent light is eliminated by the invention. After this the burner becomes set up so that if the incandescent body breaks, the burner flame breaks down and accordingly when the light stops working, the monitoring device as a result of the drop in temperature is made to respond.
For this purpose, according to the invention, operated with compressed gas Burner for the sisal lantern with gas incandescent light designed so that between the Gas nozzle and the mouthpiece containing the gas outlet openings are two one behind the other Mixing rooms are arranged, which are connected to each other by a channel, the diameter of which is kept small in relation to the cross-sections of the mixing spaces is. It is useful to have a special socket with an almost capillary in the mixing tube Through channel used so that a mixing space is created in front of and behind her. As long as the mantle sitting on the burner is undamaged, it offers that outflowing, gas-air mixture creates a resistance. But this resistance no longer applies as soon as the mantle breaks. But then the gas is reduced accordingly Resistance to emerge at increased speed. By throttling the flow path but it is prevented that at the same time: sufficient gas can flow in, and the result of it is that the flame breaks down.
In the figure, an embodiment of the invention is shown.
The gas nozzle, e i is usually inserted into the nozzle nipple. On the side of the nozzle there are openings 3 in the housing wall the air necessary for combustion is sucked in. In the mixing tube q. is the socket 5 is used, which has a very small, almost capillary passage 6. on the mixing tube sit the glow element holder 7 and the mouthpiece 8 with the tiny small. Outlet openings g. The gas is fed to the burner at an increased pressure. By inserting the socket 5 there are two mixing spaces i o and in the burner i i created, which are separated by the capillary channel6. The gas-air mixture must therefore, in order to get from the mixing chamber io into the incandescent body, twice. by flow through very small channels. If the mantle is then damaged, it can as a result of the loss of the resistance, the gas-air mixture quickly out of the room i i exit through the openings g. Through the narrow channel 6, however, cannot be in the same Measure gas flow so that the gas flow has to stop.
