Description
It is known that measured values can be transmitted to any distance by from a measuring unit generates current pulses, the frequency of which is a measure of the quantity to be transmitted. These impulses will be supplied to a desired location via long-distance lines. Since it is not possible to use the Assigning equivalent amounts of energy to individual current pulses is used from them,
z. B. by using them to switch a capacitor, current pulses to generate the same intensity, which brought into action on a measuring instrument will. The charging and discharging currents of a capacitor have due to the eyponential The rise or fall of the voltage has a particularly jerky character, so the damping of the measuring instrument Difficulties, especially with the lowest pulse frequency used in proportion there are long pauses between the individual charging and discharging bursts.
The invention is based on the object of using one with special means to make dampened instrument dispensable. According to this direction the invention achieved a significant advance in that one in the saturation area working electron tube is used to connect the capacitor with * To charge, discharge or reload constant current. The condenser becomes appropriate dimensioned so that at the given saturation current of the tube and the highest occurring Pulse frequency the charge reversal of the capacitor can just be completed in the time available can. As a result, the measuring instrument will be with the highest pulse frequency Direct current surges of constant strength fed, which are only interrupted by much shorter pauses. Compared to the high and very short-term current peaks of a directly acting on the measuring instrument Capacitor discharge is a major step forward.
With low pulse frequencies, however, the pauses are several times longer, than the duration of the power surges, so that for this part of the work area still not much is gained. However, it is possible to correct this disadvantage as well. According to According to the invention, a tube is used for this purpose, the saturation current of which is due to the heating effect of the anode current depends so strongly on the mean anode current that a decrease in the pulse frequency causes an at least almost proportional decrease in the saturation current. This makes it possible for lower Pulse frequencies to extend the duration of the individual pulse so far that the pauses between the individual current pulses supplied to the measuring instrument are proportionate are short-term and do not interfere with the display of a well-damped normal instrument.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing. With 1 is a Relay to which the long-distance
Die Batterie 8 dient gleichzeitig unter Verwendung eines Widerstandes 10 zum Heizen der Glühkathode der Röhre.gen 2, 3, the current pulses are supplied, the frequency of which is a measure of the amount to be transmitted Size is. From the relay ι two movable contacts 4, 5 are controlled, the in turn a capacitor 6 alternately in the opposite direction in a circuit switch, which contains the measuring instrument 7, a power source 8 and a tube 9. the Battery 8 is used at the same time using a resistor 10 to heat the Hot cathode of the tube.
Die kurzen zwischen den einzelnen Stromimpulsen liegenden Pausen haben dabei störende Schwankungen des MeßinstrumentsIn Fig. 2, the mode of operation of the arrangement described is shown on the temporal course of the current in the measuring instrument circuit. The current curve for the highest pulse frequency is indicated in the series α. The short pauses between the individual current pulses cause disturbing fluctuations in the measuring instrument
Row b shows the current curve at half the pulse frequency as in row α , assuming that the saturation current of the tube is independent of the mean anode current, and row c shows the current curve at the same pulse frequency, but at Use of a tube, the saturation current of which depends on the mean anode current in the desired manner. It can be seen from a comparison of rows b and c that the length of the pause between the individual current pulses has been reduced to such an extent that it can no longer cause disruptive fluctuations in the measuring instrument 7.
