Description

Device for illuminating X-ray images For economic reasons For reasons, one has switched to X-rays except on plates and films can also be made on highly sensitive paper. But it turned out that it is often precisely the details of the X-ray image that are important for the diagnosis Viewer, escaping, so that a recording of a film made on X-ray paper is not equivalent from the outset and has been rejected for many investigations had to.

The above-mentioned defect is not justified in the X-ray paper itself, but rather in the observation of the recordings made on X-ray paper, which in the incident light must happen. It is outshone by the reflective surface the shine emanating from the paper, the small differences in brightness, especially in the deep blackened tongues of the Röntgenhildes completely, so that they can be seen by the observer cannot be determined. The evil described above will be eliminated by that light is allowed to strike the picture surface at the angle of polarization, which is polarized in a straight line according to the invention and oscillates in such a plane, that it is not reflected by the specular picture surface while it is of of the photosensitive layer lying below the surface in all directions is fully broadcast. Compared to lighting with ordinary light achieves that the picture can be viewed from any point, without being dazzled by rays reflected back from the picture surface. It is known to extinguish these reflected rays using an analyzer. Viewing the image through an analyzer has the disadvantage that one not with the naked eye and can only see small sections of the image that are for the diagnosis is not sufficient, as it is generally only based on the overall impression of the Conclusions about diseased areas can be drawn from the X-ray image.
