Abstract
The invention relates to a method for locating the interface between two fluids of different resistivities, said fluids being located in an underground formation, said method comprising: fixing at least two electrodes along said underground formation; connecting in series a resistor between said two electrodes; mechanically and electrically linking said electrodes and resistor with an encased cable; connecting said encased cable to a surface resistance meter; measuring the total resistance between said two electrodes with said surface resistance meter; locating said interface between said two fluids of different resistivities from said total resistance measurement. <IMAGE>
