Abstract

The device has a telescopic mast (11) driven by a driving mechanism and having lower, intermediate and upper units (110, 111, 112) sliding one with respect to the other. The upper unit supports a sensor head (3). The head is mounted slidingly with respect to the upper unit such that, in a folded position of the mast, the head slides into a storage position in which an upper end of the head does not exceed an upper end of the upper unit. An independent claim is also included for a monitoring vehicle with a sensor head mounted on a lifting device.
