Abstract
The method involves contacting by the train driver the railway manager at the central station for radio-based operations before starting off to organise the safety of track crossings. The manager at the centre for radio-based railway operations allows time -optimal switching of all track crossing points which are to be passed through by the train. Preferably, the necessary minimum approaching time to the first crossing point for the train and a list for the crossing points which are passed on the route are automatically determined, after the manager has entered the current location of the train.
