Abstract

The burner has a combustion chamber (1), which is bounded by a wall (2a) with a window-like aperture (5) through which a nozzle (3) injects fuel, or a fuel mixture (4). The nozzle is arranged on the side of the wall which faces away from the chamber. The nozzle has a sliding or pivoting (8) mounting, and has an end wall or has an outlet opening with an end wall, which faces towards the chamber. In a first position this aligns with the aperture, and in a second position it is shielded by a wall, especially the wall which bounds the combustion chamber.
