„Die Masse, z.B. der WagenW, muß nämlich so gesteuertThe control of ship stabilization masses, e.g. B. the water masses from rolling tanks or from transversely displaceable wagons, was generally initiated solely by measuring instruments ", the fluctuations of the ship itself, z. B. measure the 'amplitudes or the angular velocity of the rolling movement of the ship. The invention relates to an arrangement which, on the other hand, makes it possible to measure the wave movements of the water, which in turn only cause the ship's swaying. For this purpose, fore and aft on carriers T 1 and T 2 electrical line structures, z. B. antennas A 1 and A 2 , arranged, which have a certain self-capacitance or self-inductance with respect to the water surface. Because the distance between the surface of the water and the antennas changes continuously as a result of the ship's fluctuations and wave movements of the water, the capacitance or inductance of the antennas is also changed accordingly, so that a pointer, which is influenced according to the changes in the antenna values, deflections proportional to the amplitudes which will make waves rolling in and out. The electrical circuits required for this are not shown in the drawing, as they are used for other measurement problems, ζ. B. for height measurement in aircraft by means of the capacitance to earth measuring, arranged on the aircraft conductor areas, are sufficiently known and could be adopted here without significant changes. One must, of course, strive to make the changes in the self-capacitance or inductance of the antennas independent of the effects of the hull of the ship. This can be done either by appropriate electrical shielding devices or by laying out the antennas sufficiently at the sides so that they are relatively much closer to the surface of the water than to the hull of the ship. The latter is recommended when using the changes in the capacitance of the antennas to control ship stabilizing masses because the damping masses can only be readjusted to the deflections of the measuring device with a certain time delay. The changes in capacity of the antenna are caused by wave crests and wave troughs that are still a greater distance from the ship, so that the stabilization masses up to the moment when these waves hit the ship's side with ease in the for effective damping of the through the waves can be brought into the required position due to the impacts exerted on the ship. “The mass, for example the car W, has to be controlled in this way

Die Steuerung kann dabei allein durch die Kapazitäts- oder Induktivitätsänderungen der Antenne oder noch zusätzlich in Abhängigkeit von den mittels Kreisels, Wendezeigers o. dgl. bestimmten Schlingerbewegungen des Schiffes ausgeführt werden.become ,, that they hit a wave crest stands on the side of the ship that is raised by the crest of the waves will. The control can be controlled solely by the changes in capacitance or inductance of the antenna or additionally depending on the rolling movements determined by means of a gyroscope, turning pointer or the like of the ship.
It has the particular advantage that the Position of the stabilization masses can be adapted to aperiodic wave crests. It is of course not necessary that the capacitance caused by the waves or changes in the inductance of the antenna, first set a measuring device and the controller the stabilization masses then after 'the display of this measuring device' takes place, rather can by the capacity or
so Induktivitätsänderungen der Antennen, z. B. in öiner Wheatstoneschen Brücke, in welche die beiden Antennen geschaltet sind, hervorgerufenen Ausgleichströme unmittelbar oder zweckmäßig über eine Verstärkeranordnung einen die Stabilisierungsmasse antreibenden Motor oder einem diesen speisenden Generator zugeleitet werden.so inductance changes of the antennas, e.g. B. in a Wheatstone bridge in which the two antennas are connected Equalizing currents directly or appropriately via an amplifier arrangement driving the stabilizing mass Motor or a generator feeding it.
Finally, it is also possible to use the antenna Induction effects of an alternating current passed through the water fore and aft suspend. For this purpose, fore and aft could be floating on the surface of the water Cables are dragged along that attached to the ship from the front and rear Outriggers are held.
It can be seen that with the measuring arrangement described when using two Antennas hung on both sides of the ship in calm seas, also inclined positions of the Ship can be determined with great accuracy using the two antennas are expedient in turn connected as branches of a Wheatstone bridge, so that the changes in capacitance or inductance are proportional to the inclination of the ship Result in equalizing currents in this bridge.
