Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 24. Oktober 1930 abPatented in the German Empire on October 24, 1930
The relays of different protection systems built into the same network point are usually either connected to completely separate current transformers or to a single secondary winding of a converter. The first method requires one increased number of current transformers and thus increased space and costs versus the second method.
This has the disadvantage that the number of turns the secondary winding of the transformer cannot be chosen equally favorably for the various protection systems.
It has therefore already been recommended to use the converter with a differential protection device to equip one primary and two secondary windings, one of which is a secondary winding to form the difference, the the other is used to sum the two currents. With such a facility however, it is not possible to design the converters and the secondary windings in this way to switch in such a way that mutual interference does not occur. The ratios therefore become very complicated and can hardly be overlooked. The well-known facility can therefore only be done with a very specific dimensioning of the magnetic field and the windings are working. But if you design the converter with these factors in mind, then it is no more possible to take the sensitivity of the protective relay into account.
With some protective devices, e.g. B. with a differential protection device and one Earth fault device, but the resistances of the relays of the two systems are such different from each other, that this also applies to the dimensioning of the current transformer winding Consideration must be given. The relays of the differential protection device usually have a resistance of 0.1 to 1 ohm with a response current of about 1 amp. A highly sensitive current relay, on the other hand, as used in a ground fault device has an impedance of 50 to 100 ohms and a response current of about 0.1 Amp. A highly sensitive power relay which is used in its place if a working voltage of 110 volts is available, has an impedance of 0.05 to 1 ohm at a response current of 0.01 amps 0.001 Amp. Response current from 5 to 100 Ohm. So there the impedances of differential and earth fault relays with consideration of the different requirements on the sensitivity on the one hand, on the different designs as current or power relays on the other hand, significantly different from each other. give way, the most favorable winds that apply to both types of relay are of course

Numbers of numbers are extremely different from one another. With such a protective device, it is therefore not possible to connect the relays to one and the same secondary winding without impairing the sensitivity of one or the other device. However, converters with one primary winding and two secondary windings can be used if, according to the invention, the secondary windings serving to feed the overcurrent protection device are connected in the star, while the secondary windings serving to feed the earth fault relays are connected in an open polygon. Each of the individual secondary windings can then only be designed according to the requirements of the individual relays without the windings influencing one another. Only when using this circuit is it possible to use converters with two secondary windings in different protective devices. In Fig. R an embodiment of the invention is shown. A current transformer with two secondary windings W 1 , W 2 is built into the lines leading to the windings of a current consumption a, b, e. The windings W 1 and zv 2 are separate, but arranged on a common iron core in each phase. The windings W 1 are connected directly on one side and on the other via an overcurrent relay d v d 2 , d s each to a star point and thus combined to form an overcurrent protection device. The windings m>, on the other hand, are connected in series with a ground fault relay e in a manner known per se in an open polygon. The number of turns 1 and W 2 of the two protective devices can now be dimensioned differently according to the response current strength of the relays used.
In Fig. 2 the application of the invention to a combined earth fault and differential protection system is shown. The windings W 1 and W 2 are arranged here on a converter which, in a manner known per se, compares the currents entering and exiting a part of the system. For this purpose, the converter is equipped with two primary windings for the incoming and outgoing currents. The mode of operation of the arrangements according to Figs. 1 and 2 is as follows, regardless of whether the end-of-line relay is designed as a pure current or watt relay, the voltage coil of which is excited by the zero point voltage. In the case of two- and three-pole short circuits, the sum of the currents is zero, and the currents are therefore only absorbed by the star-connected winding W 1 and fed to the overcurrent relay d lt d 2 , d s. The earth fault relay e is not affected because it is located in a delta winding which can only absorb a current in phase in all three lines. Such an in-phase component now occurs in the event of a ground fault and therefore causes the ground fault relay e located in the winding triangle to respond. Despite the combination of the two secondary windings on an iron core, the two protective devices work in a mutually non-influencing manner.
