Abstract

A mattress (1) lies on a slat support which comprises a plurality of sprung support modules (4) arranged spaced apart along two longitudinal supports (2, 3). Each of the support modules (4) extending transversely to the longitudinal supports has a spring slat (5) which is supported in the region of its lateral ends by a support slat (6) which is preferably loosely connected to the said longitudinal supports. In order to prevent displacement of the mattress (1) relative to the slat support, displacement prevention means (8) in each case in the form of a pocket (10) with attachment means (12, 13) are mounted on the lateral lower edges (7) of the mattress. Since the longitudinal supports (2, 3) of the slat support are offset inwards away from the edge of the slat support symmetrically relative to the longitudinal access thereof, the pockets (10) can be looped around the exposed lateral ends of the support modules (4) and attached thereto by the said attachment means. A permanent, simple and aesthetically attractive solution for preventing displacement of the mattress relative to the slat support is outlined here. <IMAGE>
