Früher wurde der Stofswechsel an mechanischen Webstühlen durch eine kleine Mustermaschine betrieben. Die Karten derselben waren zusammengesetzt aus Rollen von mehr oder weniger grofsem Durchmesser. Diese Rollen wirkten auf Einstellung der Stofshaken α und b ein. Durch den Excenter c und den Schieber d wirken a und b gegen Nasenscheiben e und stellen diese je nach der tiefsten, mittelsten oder höchsten Stellung von α und b in die drei gezeichneten Positionen (Fig. 1, 2 und 3).In the past, the material change on mechanical looms was operated by a small pattern machine. Dies war die Veranlassung, den Betrieb, also die Einstellung von α und b in die drei Höhenlagen, durch Platinen der Jacquard-Maschine zu bewirken.
