Description
Einrichtung an Muffelöfen Die Brennöfen zum Aufschmelzen des Emails werden mit Muffeln versehen, die bisher aus Schamotte oder Siliciumcarbid hergestellt werden. Diese Muffeln haben den Nachteil, daß nur ein geringer Teil der in den Gasen der Feuerung zur Verfügung stehenden Wärme nach dem Innern der Muffeln gesendet wird, da die Ausstrahlung von Schamotte und Siliciumcarbid nur gering ist. Der Nutzeffekt solcher Feuerungen ist daher gering, Es wurde wohl versucht, Muffeln aus Eisen herzustellen, doch haben sich diese nicht bewährt, da sie sich leicht verziehen, springen und verbrennen. Ein Austauschen der Muffeln ist mit großen Kosten und mit einem bedeutenden Zeitaufwand verbunden. -Diese Nachteile werden erfindungsgemäß dadurch beseitigt, daß die Muffeln aus Schamotte, "Siliciumcarbid o. dgl. mit Fenstern versehen werden, in die Platten aus hitzebeständigem Metalleingesetzt werden. Hitzebeständiger Stahl eignet sich hierfür in besonderer Weise.
