Description
.Conductive rail connection In the rail connection for electric railways, especially in mining operations, according to patent 547 731 , the rail connector with one end to the rail connector should ensure a low transition resistance at the joints of the rails against the corrosive influences of the acid mine water and the mine air Bracket be welded, and it should be the rail connector. and the rails are made of stainless steel or stainless steel alloy at least on those sides on which they come into contact with one another. So that the rail connector rests constantly on the contact piece of the rail with a corresponding pressure, the insertion of a spring washer between the rail connector and its fastening means is provided. .
According to the invention, this rail connection is to be simplified and cheaper and improved in its effect that, instead of a special rail connector, the two ends of the bracket towards the rail. are bent and the tab is resilient or resilient ends are welded to the tab, and these resilient tab ends should come into contact with those contact pieces made of stainless steel or stainless steel alloy that are welded onto the rail when the tab screws are tightened. When the tabs are tightened by the tab screws, in this case the resilient tab ends are pressed onto the contact pieces with a correspondingly strong resilient pressure; and as a result of the fine movements which the tabs and the rails perform against each other under the load, those resilient tab ends are constantly rubbed bare. However, to weld those resiliently at towards the rail bent tab ends as a special extension of the tab, it is as in the formation in accordance with the Patent 547,731 also readily possible stainless for that ear pieces of spring steel to be used, for which a in the present case the good conductivity of the connection securing means nor the strong spring pressure of these ends against the rail contact piece is added. It has already been proposed to use the spring deflection of tabs to improve contact by using jacking screws located in the middle of the tab, by tightening the ends of the tabs were pressed against the rail web. In this case, however, it was not possible to clamp the bracket firmly between the rail head and foot, so this type of rail connection left a lot to be desired from a mechanical point of view. In the subject matter of the invention, however, both a tight fit of the tabs and a perfect contact connection are created. This arrangement is also superior to the known resilient intermediate layers between the rail web and bracket, since in such arrangements there is not enough space available to be able to install strong resilient parts. In the case of parts of this type, the different materials used will soon corrode the contacting surfaces.
The drawing illustrates the embodiment of the rail connection according to the invention in Figs. i to 3 in side view, in cross section and in the horizontal Section as an embodiment.
The tab a is pulled off at both ends a1 towards the rail and formed resiliently there or over its entire length, so that they are resilient with these Ends under the action of the tab screws with high pressure against those at the point of contact of the ends a1 welded contact pieces m on the rails, which as in the design according to patent 547 731 at least on their contact surface consist of stainless steel or stainless steel alloy. On your with the contact pieces in contact side or altogether can also the plate ends a1 are made of stainless steel or such an alloy, in particular, such tab ends can also be welded to the tab. Due to the resilient pressure of the bracket, the bracket screws are also released at the same time secured against loosening.
In order to increase the abrasion effect of the tab ends, their contact surfaces possibly finely roughened or have fine, abrasive bumps.
As shown in Fig. 2, both tabs of the joint can be used be designed according to the invention; due to the permanently good conductivity of a But it is also sufficient to have only one of the butt joints at each joint To train tabs in this way.
