Process for the production of asbestos insulation on wires is known
it is common to use conduit and winding wires, especially those used in operations
exposed to high temperatures, insulate with asbestos. In more recent times it is
there has been an increasing trend towards winding the asbestos onto the wire in the form of a thread
or bobbin lace with thread.
To ensure that the asbestos fiber adheres properly to the wire and as high as possible
Achieving mechanical strength against bending stresses is what it is up to now
It has been customary to add cotton to the asbestos fiber and the mixture of fibers
to be applied to the bare wire with an adhesive or binding agent. Furthermore has
you then paint the entire line over-molded with asbestos or
impregnated. However, it has been found that also produced in this way
Wires in the case of bending claims cause damage because the asbestos coating
rips open. This is due to the fact that the envelope is not sufficiently strengthened and
is not sufficiently elastic.
According to the invention, these disadvantages are avoided in that
the asbestos fiber to be applied is made of fiber materials in organic solvents
are soluble, e.g. B. Artificial silk fiber-appropriate types, collodion wool, etc.,
such substances are added instead of cotton and used as adhesives and impregnating agents
used, which have a paint-like character and contain solvent @ as a thinner,
in which the added fiber materials are soluble or soften. That has
the advantage that the asbestos fibers are far more perfect than that by: a
Subsequent impregnation is only possible through, the, softening, soluble

is elastic enough to accommodate the bends in question during use
to withstand without bursting open. In case the asbestos is not considered open-minded
Apply fibers (flakes), rather than pile or roving, to the conductors
If you want, you can take advantage of such threads in place of the usual threads
or even better, gauze-like strips of fabric made of soluble or emollient. Fiber materials

or add soluble or softening fiber materials to the asbestos roving. Even
in this case there is an intimate bond between the fiber sheath and the wire
and: an intimate bond of the fiber envelope is achieved.
