Method and core for producing metallic centrifugally cast hollow bodies
with raw cast thread It has already been proposed to use the centrifugal casting process
to produce metallic hollow bodies with raw cast threads. If you try, however
to work with these proposals', a clean,
really usable and flawless thread, because the metal must be after the exit
flowing from the feeder through the mold or manifold cools
in the process and therefore solidifies at the thread point, even before the thread turns exactly
can fill out.
auf kürzestem Wege zugeleitet, was insbesondere beim Gießen langer Hohlkörper, z.
B. bei Röhren, wichtig ist.Tests have shown, however, that the raw cast thread is perfectly flawless
can be achieved by centrifugal casting if the casting process is conducted in such a way that
that as hot metal as possible can get to the thread core. The pouring stream will
therefore the thread core without heat loss after exiting the feeding device
supplied by the shortest route, which is particularly important when casting long hollow bodies, eg.
B. in tubes, is important.
Liegt also das Gewinde z.
So is the thread z. B. near the center of the pipe, then for
the feed point of the metal is chosen approximately the middle of the pipe and, j e after im
the rest of the casting plume is carried out, with the feed line of the casting metal against
continued this point or the pouring stream continued from there. Will however
z. B. the metal deposited in helical lines, so offers. this procedure guarantee
for a sufficient temperature of the hot metal, even if: not in the vicinity
casting is started in the middle of the pipe. However, it must be ensured that
damage to the core by mass and vortex forces of the hot metal is not
- can occur. If, on the other hand, the thread core is near the end of the pipe or on the
Pipe end, the pouring stream is expediently first fed to the pipe end and
the process is otherwise carried out in accordance with the casting process provided in each case.
In order to ensure that the metal that is as hot as possible is used during casting,
you can first let a certain amount of metal overshoot, so that, for example
The metal initially cooled by the charging device falls off.
B. Kupfer, Silber, Aluminium,
besteht, das ausgiebig gekühlt wird.To further ensure good success, the thread core or
its immediate surroundings are heated, which is particularly useful when
there is no full guarantee that the cast metal will have sufficient heat. With enough
The temperature of the casting metal can also be used with advantage -a glazing core,
made of hochschmelzezidem and highly thermally conductive metal, z. B. platinum
or just made of a highly thermally conductive metal, such as. B. copper, silver, aluminum,
that is cooled extensively.
