Um bei der durch Patent No. 54381 geschützten Einrichtung, ob die Bettstelle ausgezogen oder zusammengeschoben ist, eine weitere Vergröfserung der jeweiligen Länge möglich zu machen, erhält der feste Theil a folgende Einrichtung:In order to obtain the patent no. 54381 protected facility, whether the bed is pulled out or pushed together to make a further increase of the respective length possible, the fixed part a receives the following facility:

Dieser läfst sich nun in drei verschiedenen Lagen feststellen.This can now be found in three different positions.

Es sind auf die beschriebene Weise sechs Längen für die Bettstelle herzustellen möglich. Angenommen, die Bettstelle habe ein Ausmafs für den festen Theil von 1 m Länge und für den beweglichen Theil 0,80 m Länge, so ist die vollkommen verkürzte Bettstelle mit senkrechtem Kopftheil 1 m lang, mit nach vorn umgeklapptem Kopftheil 1,15 m. Ist die Bettstelle ausgezogen, so hat dieselbe eine Länge von 1,80 m bei senkrechtem Kopftheil, 1,95 m Länge bei nach vorn umgeklapptem Kopftheil, 2,10 m bei nach rückwärts umgeklapptem Kopftheil.
