Discharge printing pastes oxymethanesulfinic acid zinc (formaldehyde zinc sulfoxylate)
has so far only had a limited practical application as an etchant in textile printing
found, as it is too low due to its poor solubility in the printing paste
Effectiveness unfolds. This disadvantage by adding inorganic acids to
It is not possible to fix printing paste because it decomposes much too quickly.
As a result, one cannot produce any preparations containing oxymethanesulfinic acid
Containing zinc and mineral acids, such preparations are desirable for the
Are dyers. Etching agents have also been suggested, the oxymetliansulfinsa.ures
Contain zinc and a solid organic acid, but these etchants have the
Disadvantage that when water is added, hydrogen ions are formed, which
a premature decomposition of the oxymethanesulfinic acid zinc is caused.
B. Ammoniumsulfat, -chlorid, -nitrat, hydroxylaminisodisulfonsaures
Alkali usw. Die so hergestellten Präparate besitzen große Haltbarkeit. It has now been found that. excellent etchants for textile printing
obtained when zinc oxymethanesulfinate is obtained with salts of such strong inorganic compounds
Acids, which in aqueous solution only react acidic at higher temperatures, mixes.
Suitable compounds are e.g. B. ammonium sulfate, chloride, nitrate, hydroxylaminisodisulfonic acid
Alkali, etc. The preparations made in this way have a long shelf life.
Beispiel i Mercerisierte Baumwollstückware,
2 Teile Rhodamin B (Schultz, Farbstofftabellen 1934 Nr. 86¢), 2¢8 Teilen Wasser,
The use of these etchants in printing pastes has the advantage that the salts leave the zinc oxymethanesulfinic acid unchanged in the printing paste, ie in the presence of water, in the cold. A uniform and extensive decomposition of the zinc oxymethanesulfinic acid and consequently an excellent etching effect is only achieved when steaming. Example i Mercerized cotton piece goods which are dyed with the dye from Naphthol AS-Echtscharlach GG Base (Schultz, Dye Tables 1931, No. 5% aqueous rice starch paste: ers, 100 parts of a mixture of 100 parts of oxymethanesulfinic acid zinc and 50 parts of ammonium sulphate, 3 parts of methyl violet B extra (Schultz, dye tablets 193i, No. 785) and 317 parts of water, printed. The goods are then dried. When steaming the material prepared in this way, which can still be done after 1 to 3 days, excellent colored etching effects are achieved. Example z Piece of wool dyed with real blue B (Schu 1 tz, Dye Tables 1931, No. 98.1) is made with a paste of the following composition: 65o parts of a 5% aqueous British gum solution, 100 parts of a mixture of 100 parts of oxymethanesulfinic acid Zinc and 35.5 parts of potassium hydroxylamine isodisulfonate of the formula 2 parts of Rhodamine B (Schultz, Dyestuff tables 1934 No. 86 [), 2 [8 parts of water, printed and then dried. Even after storage for several days, clear colored etching effects are obtained when the material treated in the above manner is steamed.
