Description
Process for producing a mass suitable for binding ammonia and preserving farm manure. Patent 5o8 258 describes a process for producing a mass suitable for preserving farm manure: Hasse, according to which recent and fossil plants in the presence of ammonia undergo pressure oxidation in a known manner are subjected and from the organic nitrogen compounds obtained in this way, the NH is driven out again. In the process according to the main patent, the addition of oxygen takes place under a pressure of 4oAtm. and at a temperature of about 2001 with simultaneous NH, treatment. The NH3 bound together with the oxygen in the same process is then expelled again, and the acidic organic substance that remains is suitable for taking up NH3 again and for chemically binding it.
Further work has now shown that the use of ozonated oxygen has significant advantages. If ozone is allowed to act on recent or fossil plant bodies, products of a strongly acidic character are created even at "room temperature and without the application of pressure, which chemically bind ammonia to organic nitrogen compounds, even if the NH treatment required according to patent 508 258 during oxidation is omitted.
By treating ozone without applying pressure and at room temperature, recent and fossil plant bodies, e.g. As coal, lignite, peat o. The like., Converted to 1 5 to 2o hours in a water-soluble, strongly acidic substance, which is capable of 1`, 'H ;, from gases and liquids bind to organic nitrogen fertilizer to. So you can not only for the preservation of manure into consideration, but it is also suitable, NH, from coke oven gases and synthetic ammonia or the like to -.. Bind. The use of low pressures and moderate temperatures brings about a notable reduction in the working time for ozonization, so that the new process shows considerable industrial advances over the process of patent 508z58 with regard to apparatus and operations.
The amounts obtained by ozonizing the fossil plants organic acids decrease with decreasing coke yield and with increasing humic acid content of the plant bodies put into work.
The binding of NH3 to the mass to be produced by the process can optionally also take place simultaneously with the ozonization of the plant bodies.
A method is already known, which is the digestion of Peat, lignite or the like to a soil culture agent has the object. After this In the process, the materials being worked on are initially weakly alkaline made. The mass is then mixed with, a solution of super-manganese acid potash or with Hydrogen peroxide mixed, whereby it is treated with oxygen, which is made up added oxygen-containing compounds in interaction with the organic Substance arises. Finally, after the evolution of oxygen has ceased doused the masses with cultures of ammonia-binding microorganisms. The thus obtained Substance is to be addressed as a soil culture medium, but is not suitable for binding or for the utilization of considerable amounts of NH, example i lignite was used in Mixture with water treated as coal sludge with ozonated air. after the ozonated air at room temperature and without pressure for a period of 15 hours was passed through the coal mud, the brown coal particles were except for one small residue, which roughly corresponded to the ash content, as a strongly acidic mass in Solution gone. The coal was thus converted into water-soluble organic acids, which as dry matter could chemically bind 19.6 ° l, N H3. Example z crushed, Pit-moist lignite was mixed with ozonated oxygen and Water vapor or other gases that prevent self-ignition in a Treated rotary drum. After an exposure time of 4.5 hours, the carbon was off converted into a strongly acidic, caramel-like mass, which, on dry substance calculated, could chemically bind 18.4% N Hs.
