Drive Mechanism for Running Toys The invention relates to a
Running toy with drive and steering mechanism in connection with a spark generating device.
What is new is the connection of a Bowden cable with a spark generating device
and a periodically skipping drive. Through this training will
in addition to a lifelike forward movement of the walking toy at the same time
achieved a sheaf of sparks and illumination of a figure.
In the drawing, the replica is an exemplary embodiment
fireflies equipped with an intermittent engine were chosen, and
although Fig. i shows a longitudinal section, partially in elevation, and Fig. 2 shows a view from below.
i drehbar vorgesehen.
The drive and steering mechanism consists of a per se known, equipped with return spring rack engine a, b which is secured to a panel. To actuate this drive and steering mechanism, a Bowden cable c is used according to the invention, which is connected on the one hand to the rack d of the work and on the other hand to a handle. The handle consists of slides f and g, which can be moved towards each other and to which the core of the Bowden cable is attached. A known spark generating device i is rotatably provided on plate b and engine axis h to increase the play effect. When the rack is moved by the Bowden cable, in addition to the forward movement of the beetle, which is achieved by the extended rotating drive shaft of the spark device that rests on the ground, the spark generator is also activated at the same time. The sheaves of sparks illuminate a beetle of any shape and configuration, which is fastened above the plate b and is covered with openings h and colored transparent panes. To further increase the toy, the legs o of the beetle are also moved, in that the drive rack is bent at an angle on the front and back and protrudes beyond the area of the legs o. When returning and retrieving the rack through the Bowden cable and under the influence of the return spring, the angularly bent parts p of the rack take the legs with them, so that the appearance of a crawling movement of the beetle is simulated. The movable legs o are by means of a connecting web q. connected with each other. In order to achieve a limited movement of the legs, noses r are provided on the engine housing as well as on the rear legs of the figure.
