Um diesen Übelstand zu verhindern, sind bereits Schaltungen bekannt geworden, bei denen ein zusätzliches Hilfsrelais vorgesehen ist. Wird dagegen der Sternpunkt der Ständerwicklung geöffnet, so wird nach Erlöschen des Schaltlichtbogens die Spule, wie Abb. z zeigt, an eine Spannung gelegt, die infolge des jetzt geringen Spannungsabfalles in der Motorwicklung nicht viel kleiner als die Netzspannung ist.
