At the point of a railway line where an axle count is to take place, but where
no accumulator battery or at least none with a sufficiently high voltage available
has so far only been possible when using inductive direct current pulse systems in conjunction with dry batteries
small capacity the counter can be operated. Requirement for a maintenance-free
months of continuous operation for the use of dry batteries is upon removal
Greater performance means that the load is only intermittent, i.e. not for a long time
persists. With inductive direct current »5-axis counting, the intermittent load is secured.
In the essence of this axle counting it is, however, that below a minimum speed
Counting is no longer possible because the pulse is too small. One was therefore when the minimum speed was not
is secured, forced to apply mechanical contact. This results in
however, the disadvantage that in the previously known devices only an intermittent load
is not secured. If an axis would remain on the contact for a long time
and close the contact, the dry battery would be permanently charged.
The present invention now aims to provide a device that also with longer
Actuation of a contact ensures that only an intermittent load occurs.
This is done according to the invention in that a capacitor is formed through the contact closure
is charged via the counter. Another advantage here is that no special relay is required, so that too
less stress on the dry cell battery is ensured.
The subject matter of the invention is explained in more detail in the figure, for example.
On the track there are two contacts A and B that can be driven one after the other. If an axle closes the contacts when driving from left to right, the charging current of capacitor C, limited by resistor R 2 , actuates counter Z. As soon as the capacitor is charged, it drops Armature from Z back to the rest position, regardless of whether contact A has become free again or is still closed by the pull axis. The axle then closes contact B as it continues to travel, through which the capacitor is now discharged via resistor R 1 and made ready for counting for the next axle.
The device can be used unchanged for the opposite direction of travel, since it is operationally immaterial whether the unloading of C takes place through the same axle as the loading or through the following axle. The smallest distance between A and B is given by the fact that A and B must not be closed at the same time; the greatest distance because B must be left from the previous axle with the smallest wheelbase as soon as the next following axle has reached A.
