Da durch die Verbesserung der Fabrikationsmethoden von Silikasteinen die Stahdfestigkeit dieser Steine erheblich vergrößert worden ist und sie daher zur Ausfütterung von sehr heiß gehenden Öfen verwendet werden, macht sich die verhältnismäßig geringe thermische Widerstandsfähigkeit des Mörtels besonders störend bemerkbar.
