Description
Transformer with the usual primary and secondary winding on an iron core The inventor has already described a combination of a transformer and a capacitor in such a way that the latter is built as an induction capacitor and placed on the core like a winding. In many cases it has proven desirable to subdivide this third winding. On the one hand, this is desirable for technological reasons in order not to get workpieces that are too long, and, on the other hand, it is desirable to have several individual bodies which can be connected in series and in parallel. In this way it becomes possible to adapt a finished apparatus for new purposes. It turns out that it is not always desirable for the individual layer of the induction capacitor to be wound on the left and right. Rather, it is advantageous to wrap the individual layers in the same way as shown in the enclosed figure. You then have to lead the winding ends out of the insulator on one side, namely to get the possibility of either connecting the ends of an insulator on the outside or connecting two insulators in parallel or in series. It goes without saying that in this case the series connection means at the same time double the load, so that the apparatus must be calculated from the outset for the higher load. In the figure, a denotes the core, b the low-voltage winding, c the high-voltage winding, d, and d "insulating bodies in which metal inserts wound in the same or alternating directions are inserted. These metal inserts are led out of the insulating body on at least one side so that the ends allow a connection of different insulating bodies.
