Verfahren zur Herstellung von Walzgut, dessen sämtliche Querschnittsbegrenzungsflächen im Walzprozeß bearbeitet sind Walzgut wird im allgemeinen stets nur in einer Richtung, nämlich der Länge nach, bearbeitet. Eine Ausnahme hiervon machen Bleche, bei denen zur Erzielung der gewünschten Breite und zur Verbesserung der Materialeigenschaften, insbesondere der Querdehnung, das Material auch in der Querrichtung bearbeitet wird. Zu diesem Zweck wird das vorgewalzte Material um c9o gedreht und dann erst weitergewalzt, gegebenenfalls nach vorheriger Unterteilung. Auch Bänder werden vielfach in der Weise erzeugt, daß der ursprüngliche Walzstab, im ganzen oder unterteilt-, quer zu der ursprünglichen Walzrichtung weitergewalzt wird. Die insbesondere bei kontinuierlichen Straßen angeordneten Vertikalwalzen oder vielmehr -rollen, dienen hauptsächlich zur genaueren Einhaltung der gewünschten Breite, geben jedoch dem fertigen Walzstab keinen allseitig im Walzprozeß bearbeiteten Endquerschnitt. Die Schmalseiten des Endquerschnitts haben also diejenige Form, welche der Stab unter dem Ei@nfluß der Horizontalwalzen annimmt und welche in keiner maßgebenden Weise mehr durch die Bearbeitung in den viele Stiche zurückliegenden Vertikalwalzen beeinflußt ist. 1n allen diesen Fällen findet eine Bearbeitung des Endquerschnitts des Walzgutes nur zwischen zylindrischen oder annähernd zylindrischen Walzen statt; eine Bearbeitung der Seitenflächen des Endquerschnitts im Walzprozeß, wie er auf Kaliber- oder Universalwalzwerken möglich ist, unterbleibt.
