Bei körnigen, klebrigen und ähnlichen Stoffen, z. B. Cellulose, Biertreber, Braunkohle, Getreide, Dicksaft, Melasse u. dergl. hat es sich als höchst nachtheilig erwiesen, dafs sämmtliche bis jetzt bekannten Schieber durch das unvermeidliche Abheben der Platte vom Sitz während des Hubes durch zwischentretende Theilchen die erwünschte Dichtung nicht erreichen lassen. Wird durch die Spindel c der Schieber geöffnet, so wird der Punkt g und dadurch das Gewicht d gehoben, aber die Schieberplatte wird während des ganzen Hubes an die Sitzfläche geprefst, und alle Theilchen, welche auf die Dichtungsflächen fallen, werden während des Hubes bei Seite geschoben und dadurch die Dichtungsflächen vollkommen sauber erhalten.
