Der Gurtklemmer besteht aus einem Gehäuse a, einer darin gelagerten excentrischen Prefsbacke b und der in einem verticalen Schlitz des Gehäuses unterhalb der Prefsbacke angeordneten' Rolle c. Soll der Rollvorhang bewegt werden, ganz gleich, ob gehoben oder gesenkt, so zieht man den Gurt, vom Gestell fort, dabei wird die Rolle c gehoben und dreht die Prefsbacke durch deren Ansatz d derart, dafs der Gurt freigegeben wird. Durch Anziehen oder Nachlassen des Gurtes kann man nun den Vorhang beliebig heben und senken, so lange man nur den Gurt vom Gestell abzieht.
