PATENTSCHRIFTPATENT LETTERING

KLASSE 4: Beleuchtungsgegenstände.CLASS 4: Lighting objects.

Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom 10. November 1889 ab.Patented in the German Empire on November 10, 1889.

A flat wick sleeve of cross section α receives a matching flat wick. The fire cap b is arranged over the wick sleeve, to the slot cd of which the flame, through which the air passing under the fire cap b is forced, burns out as a broad flat flame. If, in place of the flat wick tube, a fully wick tube equipped with a full wick is placed in such a burner, the flame will burn out flat through the fire slit, but not squeezed out sufficiently wide to achieve the correct combustion of the oil gases for the lighting (Fig. 4).

The purpose of the present invention is now when using a full wick but to achieve a flame as it is achieved with flat wicks: a flame, which is pressed out of each other in such a way that the oil gases in it become an odorless and bright, d. H. for the lighting to be brought to rational combustion.

The facilities used for this purpose are explained in FIGS. The full wick sleeve e is surrounded by a conically formed jacket f , so that the combustion air passing under the fire cap h has to pass the narrowed space g before it reaches the fire slit ik . The air naturally slides along the inside of the fire cap, and the petroleum gases which develop during the burning, which are initially protected from the movement of the combustion air, will follow the latter and thereby split up, so that they form a broad flat flame to the fire slit burn out.

Claims (1)

A VoUdoch burner with a flat burner cap h and a cone f sitting on the wick sheath e , the latter guiding the preheated combustion air supplied to the flame and causing the flame to spread similarly to that generated when flat wicks are used.
