Die Erfindung betrifft eine Schließvorrichtung für Metallbandbereifungen an Kisten, Ballen u. dgl., bei der die übereinanderliegenden Bandenden an ihren Längskanten unmittelbar oder mittelbar unter Verwendung einer sie umschlingenden Hülse oder Klammer die für den Verschluß erforderliche Verformung erfahren. Unter Nutzbarmachung der an sich bekannten Anordnung, daß die Verformung durch einen auf und ab beweglichen Stempel geschieht, dessen Arbeitshub sowohl wie der Leerhub durch einen Exzenterhebel vermittelt wird, besteht das Wesen der Erfindung darin, daß die für den Leerhub des Stempels erforderliche zwangsläufige Verbindung mit dem Exzenterhebel durch einen Winkelhebel herbeigeführt wird, dessen einer Arm kraftschlüssig durch einen Lenker mit dem Exzenterhebel in Druckverbindung steht, während der zweite Arm zur Verminderung der Reibung eine Rolle unterfaßt, die beim Arbeitshub in bekannter Weise den Druck des Exzenterhebels auf den Stempel aufnimmt. Der die Rolle unterfassende Hebelarm hat dabei eine solche Länge, daß der von ihm gegen die Rolle ausgeübte, den Leerhub des Stempels veranlassende Druck fast ausschließlich in der Bewegungsrichtung des Stempels zur Geltung kommt,,daß sich also keine die Reibung des Stempels stark erhöhende seitliche Komponente bemerkbar macht.
