Description

Insect Vertfigungsmittel It is known that are suitable for the Bekänipfung certain species of insects, especially of the olive fly, preparations as toxins arsenic compounds and also as attractant molasses, sugar, Gly contain cerin or similar body. When using such mixtures in practice, however, there is the disadvantage that the added attractant stimulates the formation of fungi on the parts of the plant, especially those of the olive tree. We have now makes the observation overall that by addition of substances of (lesiiifi7ierendem character, such as phenols, Phenolstilfo- or carboxylic acids, hydrogenated aromatic acids - aphthensäure "#, etc., can fully push back this fungus without the attraction effect This observation is new and surprising, because it could not be foreseen that, despite the intense smell or taste, the disinfecting substances of the kind we use, the attracting effect of molasses, sugar and the like The like remains unchanged on the insects.

The proportions in which the aforementioned substances are to be mixed, can be chosen differently, only there must always be a sufficient content of molasses, Glycerine etc. must be present in the agent so that it has a sufficiently hygroscopic effect of the means is guaranteed, because the insect species to be killed are in question are eager for moisture and therefore love to be splashed with pesticides To seek out places if they are characterized by long-term moisture.
