If, in the case of compressed gas switches, the compressed gas is only released in the switch room at the moment of switching itself is to be formed from a liquid, it is important that this liquid is introduced into the control room in limited quantities. With ordinary Shut-off valves cannot fulfill this task. Since with regard to the switching process, such a valve is quite a bit had to have a large opening, a large amount of liquid would still come from the storage container even after the end of the After the extinguishing process. It has now been suggested in such cases Provide lock valve with which only a certain, contained in the lock Amount of liquid can be let into the control room. It will be here before the switching process a smaller space, the sluice, with the liquid from a larger one Reservoir filled. During the filling process, the lock is behind the control room blocked. Then the connecting line between the lock and the storage container closed. The switch is now ready to switch, and the contents of the lock can be emptied into the control room. With such a design it must be shut off the lock at least two valves are provided, which alternate when switching open and close. However, this requires a rather complex switching mechanism. You therefore get a much simpler structure of a lock valve and the associated drive if you according to the invention in the inflow to the sluice leaves the valve completely. This can be done once you put the supply pipe like that tight makes that only a limited amount of liquid flows through in the unit of time. This is all the more permissible as the switching processes only take place at intervals of at most need to be repeated for a few minutes. However, this time is sufficient to fill up the lock through the narrow inlet pipe. On the other hand, the inlet pipe is too narrow for larger quantities to be allowed when the lock is opened towards the switch room Liquid could flow in from the reservoir during switching. Included needs the opening of the valve with regard to the open connection to the storage container not to be limited in any way.
In the figure, α means a storage container that is filled, for example, with liquid carbonic acid. In the same there is a drainage pipe b which extends into the vicinity of the bottom and which is in communication with the lock el through the narrow inflow pipe c . The lock set is separated from the switch room by valve e.

sperrt. The valve e is designed in the manner of a cone valve, the valve cone being moved in the direction of the arrow by a control element (not shown) when it opens. When the valve cone is lifted from its seat, the amount of liquid contained in the sluice flows through the pipe / and the distribution line g into the control room Ii of the gas pressure switch, where it both
Alsdann füllt sich die Schleusen? durch das Zuflußrohre allmählich wieder mit Flüssigkeit auf.ίο serves to blow the interruption point as well as to move the drive piston for the movable contact. After the reservoir α has emptied, the valve is closed. Then the locks fill up? gradually up again with liquid through the inflow pipes.
Since the flow of the liquid through the narrow pipe c and its associated temporary evaporation causes severe cooling, there is a risk that the liquid in the feed line will solidify and the inflow can no longer follow. In order to prevent this, the tube c can be surrounded with a heater or with a mass that is able to quickly give off the heat stored in it when it cools, for example with a metal jacket.
