Bei kaufmännischen Unternehmungen und ähnlichen Betrieben ist es üblich, zur Überwachung des Betriebes Zählkarten zu verwenden, wie sie allgemein zur Bearbeitung in statistischen Maschinen benutzt werden und durch darin angebrachte Löcher Angaben über die Ware darstellen, auf welche sich die Karten beziehen. Diese Zählkarten werden nach die Ware betreffenden Belegen hergestellt und können für statistische Zwecke geordnet und aufgerechnet werden.
