Folge, also mit konstanter Geschwindigkeit.
Switching device for changing, electrical light writing The invention
concerns a neon sign to announce any letters and characters
Art. Universal incandescent fields are known with horizontal and vertical
Rows of incandescent lamps, such as those for so-called alternating letters, wandering light
and similar apparatus are already in use. In the previously known neon signs,
who use the universal light bulb field, the writing suddenly appears
on the entire light bulb field or it is switched on in groups or it will
the writing moves from right to left across the bulb surface in a more even manner
Sequence, i.e. at constant speed. The impression of this latter neon sign,
the so-called traveling light advertising is as if the writing over the light bulb field
wandered. These devices consist of a fixed collection of moving contacts
and from a movable cluster of fixed switching means that become surfaces
Chains of surfaces or chains of the individual switching means are combined. the
moving contacts of the fixed cluster cannot leave their location,
they only move in the direction of their axis and carry the connections of the lamp single lines.
The moving controls change their location and do not contain any moving ones
Parts. Their design determines the luminous figure to be reproduced in the lamp field and
therefore corresponds to letters, numbers or characters. In passing the congregation
of the moving contacts, they either close the lamp currents directly
Self-conduction and contact with the moving contacts or only indirectly by mechanical means
Lifting of the moving contacts without self-conduction. The accumulation of all movable
Contacts in addition to all lamp connections on a small area bring extensive in the event of malfunctions
Work because a contact pin in the middle of the surface is only after it has been removed
all neighboring lines and contact pins becomes accessible. A minor one
Disturbances caused by dust, splash water or insects can shut down the system for days.
beseitigt.According to the invention, these difficulties are overcome by
that the movable pin contacts are built into the movable controls
and always only represent a certain character. The place of failure is then
immediately denoted by the associated letter, and because letter and control
is one and the same, by replacing the easily detachable control element immediately
eliminated.
Geschwindigkeit, also Verzögerung; gelangt die Schrift
Rastlöcher ist gleich dem Abstand der Kontaktstifte in der festen Kontaktfläche;
Contrary to the neon signs just listed, which are known today, the switching effect of this invention is that a line of text is moved from top to bottom or from bottom to top on the incandescent lamp field. With decreasing speed, i.e. delay; The writing reaches the middle of the light bulb field, either coming from below or from above, and lingers for a moment in peace. According to the invention, the pause can be any, depending on the size of the text to be grasped by the viewer. While one line disappears from the incandescent lamp surface, the next line of text then appears, in order to be replaced in the same way by the next line. The corresponding device is as follows: In an insulating plate a (Fig. Z) as many metal pins b are embedded as the lamp field has sockets. The heads of the metal pins all lie on one side of the plate and are ground down with this to form a flat surface c on which the contact is made. The lines leading to the lamps are connected to the ends of the pins b. The selection circuit on. the contact surface c is mediated by the switching element d (Fig. 2); It basically consists of a small metal housing with a single or inlaid double bottom f and a cap g slipped over it. A tried and tested design consists of a metal housing made of sheet metal with a blown, resilient cover on which a projection is provided as a latch and an extension t is provided as a retaining spring. The bottom and the cover are perforated, and the holes have the same spacing as the fixed contact pins in the insulating plate c, as also shown in fig. The metal pins h, which are prevented from falling out by their flanges, are easily movable in the perforations of the cover and the base f (Figs. 2 and 3). On the metal pins k, above their flange, there are coil springs which produce the contact pressure. The whole thing is now a metal housing closed on all sides with a nose n (Fig.3), which serves as a latch in the collecting container described below. The ends of the metal pins 1a, arranged in a character, can be seen from the bottom of the housing (Fig.5). If you guide this switching element on a holder with a little pressure over the contact surface (Fig. 2), the pins press with their end caps on the embedded contact pins b, which means that the switching element is ready for operation. If this switching element is sufficiently large It is also possible to let the pins h, arranged in letter form, act on the contact surface only by their own weight and thus to bring about contact without the use of springs (Fig. 2) 3, 3 a and q. These individual elements are combined into rows and thus form a line of text. To display a moving line, these combined letters or switching elements are perpendicular to the direction the reading movement with or without reading standstill over the contact field The lines are transported by known means, such as belts, chains, braids and the like. For example, long trough-like containers m (Figs. 5 and 6) are used, in which the switching elements d combined to form a line of neon signs are fixed next to one another in an easily detachable manner. The trough-like container used for this purpose has a row of small holes on a lower longitudinal edge for receiving the latch n on the switching element. The distance between the locking holes is equal to the distance between the contact pins in the fixed contact surface; The switching elements d (letters) are only held in place in the recess by the detent n (Fig. 3) and the spring t. Because the division and position of the row of locking holes in the troughs match the division of the contact surface, the letter is located at every point on the trough with its switch pins in correspondence with the contact points of the fixed contact surface. Two block chains w running side by side at a distance equal to the length of the trough carry the troughs, which have only been placed on top and are provided with drivers s, and the whole thing runs like an endless belt over four chain wheels: which in turn are motor-driven. The advance takes place gradually or continuously by known means. A resilient bridge p is attached over the fixed contact surface A (Fig. 6), which keeps the troughs with their switching elements (letters) at the correct distance from the fixed contact surface and also provides the power supply. A technical advantage is that the size of the switchgear could be reduced by the innovation so that the switchgear can be used not only for large systems, but also for use in shop windows, showrooms and the like. A practical application, especially for the latter purposes, consists in assembling the transformer, motor, movement device, contact field and lamp field with the associated internal electrical lines to form an apparatus which is closed off from the outside, one outer wall of which forms the lamp field. This creates a portable device that is ready to display electrical incandescent lamp writing with constantly changing text without much preparation.
