zugesetzten Gewichtes frei.
Process for carbonic acid fertilization in the fumigation of open fields
as is known, carbonic acid gases are allowed to escape from pipelines laid at intervals,
which are then due to the constant air movement to those in between
Plants. On this path from one pipeline to another occurs naturally
a dilution of the carbonic acid gases. The carbonic acid effect is all the greater,
the higher the average carbonic acid content in the air around the plant. Consequently
it is advantageous for the gases to escape with the highest possible carbonic acid content
allow. When using combustion gases, however, there is a limit to this,
which, for practical reasons, have a carbonic acid content of about r o to i z%. lies. Around
to bring about a considerable increase in spite of this in a simple manner is intended according to the invention
the fuel can be mixed with carbonates, preferably limestone. By
the heating of the latter is known to be carbonic acid almost up to half that
added weight free. As a result, the carbonic acid gas produced in this way can be up to
Contains over 3o% carbonic acid. The amount of carbonic acid in the air around the plant can
so compared to the current process are significantly increased. An injury
of the plants growing in the immediate vicinity of the outlet tube does not enter, since the
Carbon dioxide content immediately after leakage due to mixing with air
is lowered. The method can be carried out in two ways. First
in that carbon-rich fuel, so coke o. The like., And limestone accordingly
mixed and abandoned in a shaft furnace, as happens in lime burning
will. and that the gases contained after the necessary cooling and cleaning
conveyed to the plants by dust and other substances harmful to plants
will. Of course, more coke will be added than is otherwise necessary for burning.
The arrangement can also be made so that next to an ordinary incinerator
a shaft furnace to achieve the highest possible quality gas, so with little
Coke consumption, is set up and that the gases produced are mixed. It
this has the advantage that not all fuel is given up through the shaft furnace
needs to be saved so that the cumbersome work of lifting and the
This makes operation easier. In this way, a content of up to 2o%
can be achieved, which is a significant improvement. The shaft furnace
can also be dispensed with entirely if the limestones are used in smaller quantities in an intensive manner
added to ordinary fires.
2 Teilen Kalkstein auf i Teil Koks
i bzw.
To ensure security even under the simplest operating conditions
to obtain a certain, consistently high carbon dioxide content,
happens - the mingling of limestone and
Coke most effective
in that both. Substances are comminuted and briquetted accordingly. Most convenient
turn out to be mixing ratios of; 3 or 2 parts limestone to 1 part coke
for producing a rich gas while briquette. with i part limestone on it
i or 2 parts of coke are more extensive because of the higher carbon content. Each
Mixing ratio delivers one and the same type of briquette with ongoing use
a gas with a certain carbonic acid content. This makes it easy and safe
Way an adaptation of the fumigation strength to the carbon dioxide requirements of the plants and
given to the natural conditions. For young or low-growing plants
as well as in a rough location you will fertilize with a higher gas content than with a half-high one
Grain field, which in itself already offers good protection from the wind, and which as a result
it is beneficial to work with a carbon-rich mixture.
As a binding agent for this briquette is particularly suitable extinguished
Lime that converts into carbonate of lime when carbon dioxide is absorbed from the air
and gives the briquette the required strength. The hardening of this briquette
can be accelerated by keeping them in a chamber for several days
exposed to carbonated atmosphere. Instead of slaked lime can
fresh, ground blast furnace slag can also be used. The simultaneous task
of lime with the fuel also has the advantage that when the
The sulfur released from the fuel does not pass into the combustion gases, but rather
is more or less absorbed by the lime. This can make this process even easier
be that as a surcharge ferrous substances, so in addition to the already mentioned blast furnace slag
iron ores can also be used.
The process described in this way of producing a high-quality carbonic acid gas
brings besides the better effect on the field still a number of 1, # side advantages
with himself. Through the already mentioned total or partial binding of the in the fuel
sulfur contained can reduce the cleaning system and the associated costs
not be insignificantly reduced. Due to the high percentage of carbon dioxide in the gas
But there is also less ballast in the form of atmospheric nitrogen through the pipelines
promoted, so that also used here smaller diameter and the investment costs
for the pipeline network can be reduced. For yourself or in conjunction
Quick lime from the fuel ash can also be used as fertilizer
be used. The coke-lime-briquette-represent a combined, high-quality
and a cheap carbonic acid fertilizer for plant cultivation.
