Description
Casting attachment for block molds The invention relates to a casting attachment for block molds with one supported by the upper and lower housing flange, lining made of refractory bricks.
The previously used pouring attachments could not be used for a larger one Number of casts used again and also not to establish a good contact always brought back into the same position on the mold between the contact surfaces will. A connection of the pouring attachment to the mold for a number of casts was not intended, but the pouring nozzle was removed after each pour and mostly destroyed too.
The lack of a tight seal between the mold and the pouring attachment in the more common brick-built devices caused the liquid iron ran into the crevices formed and so parts of the bricks were attached to them Areas got stuck and exposed to further heat treatment with the casting became. They were melted together with the steel at these points, so that this contaminated part had to be cut off as an excess. Often ran too the molten brick material down the sides of the cast ingot and contaminated a large part of it. It was also frequent as a result of the little poetry Completion of the brick with the end face of the casting mold when pouring a kind of flange formed, which the removal of the mold, if its further end was down, impossible made so that the mold must be destroyed in this case.
The pouring attachment according to the present invention avoids the aforementioned : Yach parts by creating a tight seal between the attachment and the end of the mold achieved and so the formation of laterally protruding cast edges is avoided.
According to the invention, the lower housing flange extends a Casting attachment up to the opening of a casting mold and settles with an annular Approach into a correspondingly designed recess of the upper edge of the mold. Of the upper and lower flange are special, resting on the annular housing part Parts are formed and are made by means of fastening bolts passing through their outer edge connected to the housing part. The bottom flange forms a special part, which with a shoulder in. the lower part of the pouring attachment housing engages, the Screws for fastening the pouring attachment on the casting mold with play through radial Slots: go in the bottom flange and do not hinder its free expansion.
In the drawings: Fig. I is a section through the attachment and a Part of the mold, Fig. 2 is a plan view of Fig. I, Fig. 3 is a plan view of a Attachment with a round bottom flange and a rectangular cross-section similar to that of the Mold corresponds to, Fig.q. a section through the top of a Casting mold, Fig. 5 with a top view of another embodiment of the attachment part of the upper flange broken away, Fig. 6 a section along the line 9-9 of Fig. 5, Fig. 7 is a plan view of the bottom flange of the attachment, Fig. 5 and 6, Fig. 8 a partial section showing the attachment of the bottom flange with the case shows.
Abb.9 zeigt einen Aufsatz mit abnehmbaren oberen und unteren Flanschen und Abb. io eine Draufsicht der Abb, 9.Figure 9 shows an attachment with removable upper and lower flanges and Fig. 10 is a plan view of Fig. 9.
The Gießforen r shown in Fig. I and 2 is of the usual type and has a head with a slight indentation (Fig. d.), creating a seat 2 and a conical side wall d. arises, which are used to introduce the essay di: -nen. The depression can be used in any way, e.g. B. on a lathe.
The attachment consists of a housing 5 made of cast iron or other suitable metal and has a lower flange 6 and an upper flange 7. The lower flange has a projection 8 which fits into the recess 2 so that the lower seat surface g lies on the seat surface 2 comes, whereby a tight seal between the mold and attachment is formed. The opening in the housing can be circular, as shown in Fig. 2, or can correspond to the cross-section of the mold, as shown in Fig. 3. The interior of the housing is lined with a suitable fire-resistant material, which preferably consists of arched bricks which are expediently arranged in an upright position. The bricks @verden are placed in cement, which is fire-resistant and can consist of clay, mortar, etc., so that a smooth inner surface is formed. The bricks can be of any shape and, as shown in FIG. The upper flange 7 can have outwardly protruding lugs 12 which carry clamping irons or hooks 13 which grip over projections 15 of the casting mold. The lugs 12 carry bolts 16 in incisions which penetrate through the eyes 17 of the hooks 13. If very heavy attachments are needed, the small tits can be omitted. If the attachment is used with a casting mold, the enlarged end of which is at the bottom, it is held securely in position by the clamp bars when the cast ingot is removed from the mold and the latter is lifted by a crane. Keeping the attachment on the form reduces the risk of the bricks breaking. On the other hand, the attachment will not always be lifted off in an exactly vertical direction and the resulting angular position can break the bricks. If the bottom flange is circular, it is desirable that it always occupies the same position in relation to the casting mold, since a layer is formed on the overhanging part of the flange which would prevent a good seal between the top and the casting mold. A conical pin 18 expediently protrudes upwards from the end face of the casting mold, and the bottom flange 6 has a bore 19 for receiving the pin.
In Fig. 5, 6, 7 another embodiment is shown. The case 25 is provided with an upper flange 26 and the side walls have drainage holes 27. The bottom flange .28 is a special part and has a sloping brick support surface and a flat outer rim 29 which seats the lower edge of the housing 25 forms. The housing can be attached to the bottom flange in various ways, z. B. by angle 30 (Fig. 8), which by bolts 3i on: the side wall of the housing are attached. Preferably straight Streifm are first attached to the housing, which, after placing the flange, into the recess 32 in the lower surface of the same be bent. The fastenings are conveniently attached to the four corners. The lower part of the housing 25 has lateral projections 33 (Figs. 5 to 7), which Have bores for the passage of fastening bolts 34. The bottom flange also has lateral projections 35 with slots 36 which extend independently and contraction of the bottom flange. The casting mold has lateral approaches 37 through which the bolts 34 tightened by wedges 39 (Fig. 6) penetrate.
The upper outer flange is cut out at 44 as shown in Fig. 5, to provide guide tracks for the chains which engage under the lugs 33; when the attachment is lifted by a crane, the chains prevent the cutouts 44 lateral tilting.
The width of the upper flange 26 is expediently just as large as as the width of the brick as shown in figs 5 and 6, so that tools that go to Serve removal of the bar, guided through the flange 26 «= earth and not can hit the top edges of the bricks: The opening 49 in the bottom flange 28 is slightly larger than that of the top flange and slightly smaller than the opening 5o in the mouthpiece of the mold. This causes the formation of protrusions Cast parts which weld the attachment to the cast ingot avoided.
When the attachment is ready for use, it is provided with a material such as Silicate cement smeared out, "- what prevents the iron from getting with the bricks melts together, thus allowing the cast ingot to be removed without further ado.
In A'bb. Another embodiment is shown in g and io in which the attachment consists of three main parts, namely the upper flange 51, an icelike-pyramidal-shaped one Housing 5-2 and a special bottom flange 5q .. The flanges are bolted 55 held together, the heads of which are recessed in the upper flange and for the nuts 58 of which recesses 57 are provided in the lower surface of the lower flange are. These bolts are arranged at any distance around the circumference, and through them the housing is clamped between the flanges. With this construction it is desirable to insert the bricks into the casing first, and only then place the top flange and tighten it. The gap between the top The flange and the bricks are filled with a fiery cement. Between the fire-resistant bricks (fireclay bricks or the like) and the r '@ eliäus @ is still a layer of heat insulating bricks made of heat-permeable earth is provided.
