Abstract

In order to stow 20' containers (11) which are placed one behind another in a stowing location (12) of a 40' container within a cellular frame (10) on board boats, the 20' containers (11) have to be additionally secured on the sides (13) facing each other by means of coupling pieces (17) which are prelocked ashore underneath the corresponding bottom corner mount (19) of a 20' container (11) that is to be stacked on top of a lower 20' container. Said coupling pieces (17) have to be prelocked precisely underneath the corner mounts (17) lying on the face (13) of the respective 20' container (11), which will ultimately be located on the inside. That is not guaranteed for several reasons, resulting in the 20' containers (11) being insufficiently secured. The invention relates to a method in which a single coupling piece (17) is disposed on any corner mount (19) of each face (13, 16) of every 20' container (11), thereby ensuring reliable securing under any condition of 20' containers (11) that are disposed behind each other in the stowing location (14) of a 40' container within the cellular frame (10).
