Paper-moistening device (1) for storing and dispensing dry or wet cleaning paper (2) comprises a housing (8) arranged a specified distance from a roll (3) of sheets of paper (4-6) on a room wall (12), and guide elements (11) consisting of a stationary funnel-shaped trough containing a deviating bar (15) guided in a slit-like recess between which the suspended sheets of paper are moved toward a moistening roller (10). Preferred Features: The roller with the sheets of paper forms a construction unit (17) fixed above or below the housing. The housing with the guide elements and the moistening roller forms another construction unit (18).
