Abstract
Process for production of a wear resistant coating, especially on a internal combustion engine cylinder, involves electrodeposition of the coating under pressure with laser radiation. An Fe coating is applied first having different alloy components, such as Zn, Mo, Cr, Cu, Ni, Sn, Co (preferably 0.1-1%) and/or particles of Cr oxide, Fe oxide, Si3N4, C, B4C, SiC,or other carbides, borides nitrides or silicides, where the first Fe coating is subjected to a short pulse laser radiation.
