Abstract
A camera takes a background picture representing a situation with no fire and stores it. Further processing excludes those pixels, among which the pixels for the background picture exceed a predefined brightness value. By relying on areas (L) of brightness, the number of pixels (n1-n4) are determined so as to form a luminescence histogram from a current picture. An independent claim is also included for a device for identifying magnesium fires.
