Mittelst einer kleinen Kupplung e wird auch die Axe, welche die Nadel trägt, und zwar der Gehäuseverlängerung entsprechend, verlängert. Das Zifferblatt //, welches die Scala trägt, ist eine transparente Glasplatte, welche von einem Gummiring g g umgeben ist, um die Platte bei starken Stöfsen, wie sie oft bei Locomotiven vorkommen, gegen das Zerbrechen zu sichern.
