A crankshaft i, which is driven in a fixed relationship to the engine, is mounted in the lower part of the pump and moves the pistons 7 and 8 up and down by means of two cranks 3 and 4 and corresponding connecting rods 5 and 6. The bores for the pistons are located in the pump body 9, which is attached to the lower part 2. A cover io closes the through cylinder bores: The piston 8 serves to convey the liquid fuel, which can flow through a line ii and a bore 12 from the fuel container. To regulate the amount of fuel delivered with each stroke, an axially adjustable sleeve 13 is used, which cooperates with a shoulder 14 of the piston 8 in such a way that, in different axial positions of the sleeve 13, the shoulder 14 sooner or later enters the adle bore of the sleeve 13 . A more or less large amount of fuel through the central bore 15 via a check valve 16, a recess on the periphery of the piston corresponding to the sleeve position: 17, and a connecting opening 1 8 injected in the pump body 9 in the second cylinder chamber under pressure. The axial adjustment of the sleeve i3 takes place by means of a rack-shaped design of the sleeve on one side and by a pinion i9 which is mounted on a shaft 2o and can be moved by a lever. In its lower position, the air piston 7 sucks in gases or air through the opening 46 in order to compress it on the upward stroke. During the compression lift, as already described, liquid fuel is injected under pressure into the air space through the bore 18. The compressed mixture flows through a bore 22 in the piston 7, a bore 23 in the body 9, a bore 24 in the pump piston 8 and a further bore 25 in the housing into a space 26, from which it flows through one or more of the number Combustion chambers corresponding parallel lines 27 is transferred to the combustion chamber. The duration of the overflow process is influenced by .the position of the various bores and the position of the pistons to one another "so that it is possible to convey the mixture with the necessary voltage and at the same time to interrupt the connection at the beginning of the return stroke of the piston 7, so that once the mixture has been delivered, it cannot flow back again.
Büchse 48 in Verbindung steht.
The line 27 is connected to a bore 5 i of the shut-off valve body 52, through which the mixture can pass into a recess 53 of a valve sleeve 54, from where it passes under the partially offset end of the valve needle 55. Excess mixture flows through a recess 47 on the opposite side of the valve sleeve into a second bore 56 of the valve body, which is in communication with an annular channel 57 of a sleeve 48 pressed onto the valve body. This channel guides the mixture into a recess 58 of the nipple 59s of the fuel line 27. The recess 58 is connected to the interior of a second tube 28 surrounding the first through a plurality of bores 6o. A union nut 61 holds the flanged flange of the tube 28 against the nipple 59 and presses the latter onto its seat. The valve needle 55 is held firmly on its seat by a bolt 63 and a spring 62. However, this is only the case if the spring plate 64 is pressed down by a cap 65 and a lever 66 , since otherwise the valve plate 64 rests against a nut 67 of the spindle 63 and the load from the valve spring ceases. The mixture pressure then lifts the valve needle and the fuel flows: through the opening 68 into the combustion chamber. The lever 66 is controlled by a curve 69 with a triangular or trapezoidal recess 7o, which moves in a fixed ratio to the speed of the motor. This curve can be moved axially, so that a recess 70 of different widths causes an injection duration of different lengths.
The mixture transferred into the line or lines 28 flows through openings 29 in the connecting piece and bores 30 and 31 in the body 9 into a space 32 which is provided for pressure equalization. When the pressure is too high, a piston 34 loaded by a spring 33 allows the mixture to flow over from the pressure chamber through a bore 35, 36 and openings 37 of the suction line stub, which is passed through a pipe 38 surrounding the suction line ii to the fuel tank, where the fuel and gas separate and the excess gas exerts a certain pressure on the liquid in the container, which supports the suction effect. The back pressure of the spring 33 is absorbed by a sleeve 39 which, like the sleeve 13, is provided with teeth and which can be adjusted up and down by a pinion 4o. As a result, the pressure of the spring 33 and thus the tension in the fuel line can be changed as desired. The pinion 4o is rotated by a lever 41. In order to be able to carry out both control processes, once the change in the quality of the mixture, due to the axial position of the sleeve 13 and, secondly, the control of the mixture pressure due to the axial position of the sleeve 39, the pinion i9 is arranged to be axially displaceable and at the end provided with claws that engage in corresponding projections .des pinion 4o. In order to keep the respective axial position of the pinion, two grooves 4s and 43 are provided, in which a locking pin engages. Unintentional adjustment of the levers ei or 41 is prevented by two stationary toothed segments 44 and pawls 45 rotatably attached to the levers.
