Frame head with ball-and-socket-type device support pin secured against rotation
The invention relates to a gesture or tripod head with a ball joint-like,
Device support pin secured against rotation, by means of which the device can be quickly moved into
the vertical or any inclined position can be set. It is at
such frame heads known that the support pin terminates in a ball at the bottom
and has a spherical extension as a counter bearing for the adjustment means or
two disks that can be rotated against each other as setting means for leveling

Frame or tripod heads according to the invention essentially in that the support pin
by two lying in parallel planes, encompassing each other and both together
as well as mutually rotatable eccentric disks is adjustable, which at the same time
serve to guide and hold the trunnion. This is compared to the known
Rack heads a greater simplicity and, what is particularly important, one
far lower overall height and despite this a relatively large angle of inclination
of the trunnion achieved because this angle only depends on the eccentricity of the

Erfindung dargestellt. Abb. i zeigt den Gestenkopf im Längsschnitt, Abb. 2 denselben

Invention shown. Fig. I shows the gesture head in longitudinal section, Fig. 2 the same

The frame head consists essentially of a foot i, which can be in any
Way is attached to a three-legged frame, and a support pin 2, whose
upper end 3 is used to accommodate the device to be attached and its lower,
spherical end 4 in a spherical recess of the foot i on one with
spherical recess provided, screwed into the foot bearing plate 5 rests.
The ball q. is provided with a longitudinal slot through which a
Bolt 6 engages so that the trunnion 2 tilt in all directions, but not
can turn. Towards the top, the foot i is widened in a funnel shape and through a
screwed-on ring 7 completed, the an eccentric ring 8 rotatable on
holding on to the foot. The eccentric disk 9 of the ring 8 is of an eccentric
Disk io includes, which in a hub ri a the support pin 2 closely encompassing spherical segment
12 carries. The eccentric rings 9 and io can be rotated together and against one another.
On the foot i there is a clamping ring running in a thread below the ring 8
13 with handle 1q. arranged, by means of which the frame head after the setting
can be clamped.
To adjust the trunnion 2 are
the rings 8 and io rotated with the clamping ring 13 released until the support pin
2 with the attached device the desired, z. B. assumes a vertical position. By
the arrangement of the two interlocking eccentrics lying in parallel planes
g, io it is possible to move the pin 2 within a largest circle, which is shown in Fig.
3 is shown as circle 15 to give any position by adding the
free end of the pin 2 with its center not only all points of the periphery
of the circle 15, but also take any position within the circular area
can. When the setting is complete, the clamping ring i3 is opened using the handle 1q. at
the ring 8 pressed and this determined thereby. The ring io is self-locking
and therefore does not need to be clamped.
