Description
Process for the production of paracumarone resin from heavy benzene Subject The invention is a process for the recovery of paracumarone resin from heavy benzene (Solvent naphtha) by stirring the heavy benzene with sulfuric acid.
The invention consists in the use of a dispersing device (colloid mill) which ensures thorough mixing of the reaction mixture. The space between them expediently has. surfaces of the dispersing device moving past one another 0.1 mm to 2.5 mm, while the speed at which the surfaces are moved past one another can best be 15 m per second. According to the invention, it is sufficient to add 100 parts of heavy benzene to only about 3 parts by weight of a sulfuric acid of about 60 ° B6.
In the new process, the polymerization is extremely fast, d. H. almost instantaneously, and the resins obtained are characterized by a lighter color and a higher melting point than those of the known method resins made from. With the new procedure, the pause plays a certain Temperature or temperature control play a much smaller role than with the known ones Processes in which emulsification does not take place. With the known methods it is necessary to obtain light colored resin products that the temperature does not rise above i o 'C, while according to the present process at temperatures a completely satisfactory resin product is produced between 15 and -5'C. Even the temperature control is significantly easier and better because of the volume ratio of the oil to be polymerized versus the volume used in the apparatus Cooling liquid is very low at any point in time, which is essential for safe implementation of the procedure is of very considerable importance. The new method can be used in appropriate Devices can be exercised continuously without interrupting the work process. Side reactions and sulfonation are avoided altogether, and in many cases the preliminary distillation of raw materials such as naphtha is no longer necessary. The used Apparatus and the polymerizing reaction are far simpler than any of the known procedures.
Some embodiments of the invention are exemplified by the drawings illustrated.
A in Abb. 2.Fig. 1 is a vertical section through a device used to carry out the method, Fig. - a vertical section through another embodiment, and Fig. 3 is a section along AA in Fig. 2.
The one denoted in Fig. I finite i closed; see housing is with - an inlet pipe 2 and an outlet pipe 3 are provided. The one lying between these pipes Part of the case has the shape of a truncated one. Cone with a smooth Inner surface 4. Through stuffing boxes 7 in holes 5 and 6 of the body and 8 goes a shaft 9 which is supported in bearings io and i i and from a motor or a drive pulley 12 or the like. Is rotated. A rotor sits on this shaft 1.3, the circumference of which comes very close to the inner surface 4 of the housing i, leaving only a very narrow space in between. This gap is preferred only z. B.: L / 1o to ¢ / 1o mm wide, but can also be up to 2 to 3 mm wide to have. The mixture consisting of naphtha and the polymerizing agent is through an inlet pipe 2 is left in the housing, and on it the rotor is relatively high number of revolutions, z. B. with a peripheral speed of 15 to 75m / sec. This either thoroughly emulsifies the mixture, or the particles of one its constituents become in, extremely fine division with the particles of the other Component mixed so: that the particles of both components in very intimate Be brought into contact with each other, whereby the Polymerlsation brought about very quickly will. The polymerized product is then out of the housing through the outlet pipe 3 removed.
In the embodiment according to fig. 2 and 3, the stationary housing 15 having an inlet tube 1 6 and an outlet pipe 17 and provided with openings 18 and i9, in which stuffing boxes 20 and 2o 'are, passing through a shaft 22. The latter is stored in bearings 23 and 24 and is rotated by a motor or a drive pulley 25 0. Sit on the shaft 22 spoke 26, preferably of square cross section, having attached to the inside 2 i of the housing 1 5 projections 27, also preferably of rectangular cross-section, alternate and pass by during rotation of the shaft very close to the same, so that, B, only gaps - of a few hundredths of a millimeter. remain. The mixture of naphtha and the polymerizing agent is introduced through the inlet pipe 1 6, and then when the shaft 22 is rotated with a very high number of revolutions, the particles of the mixture in very intimate contact are brought together so the polymerization da.ß very quickly enters . The polymerized product is removed through outlet pipe 17.
The procedure. can also be carried out in such a way that individually the mixture of naphtha and the polymerizing agent. an emulsion device is conducted, in which the mixture traverses a tortuous path from on the rotor seated rings is formed, which are located between corresponding, on Rotate concentric rings seated on the stator.
As naphtha, which is particularly suitable for the treatment described above suitable, a soluble naphtha is used which is about 25 to 5oo / o polymerizable Components, e.g. B. coumarone, indene, etc. contains. This naphtha is used along with about 30/0 of its weight of 60 ° B6 sulfuric acid introduced into the case. After a period of about 10 seconds, the polymerization is complete. Man then gives the polymerized product time to settle and leaves the used Acid from, whereupon the product is neutralized and distilled in a known manner.
