Description

Push-button circuit for tube transmitters For medium-sized and larger transmitters The power to be handled by the push button relay is already so great that with normal telegraph relay can usually no longer be used. Because it's in the interest high word speeds and because of the price issue is not desirable, To work with large relays and large stroke, a push button circuit was previously used Tubes used in which tubes are used in grid DC modulation circuit became. The grid of these tubes was applied through a high resistance EMF (rectifier) made so strong negative that the tube blocked. The key lay between the grid and the cathode of the modulation tube. Firstly, with this circuit the relay has the full DC grid voltage to earth (peak value of the AC grid voltage of the exciter or considerably more if a reverse voltage is applied), second is the internal resistance of the modulation tubes when connecting grids and cathode quite high, so that one can achieve the desired grid DC resistance usually requires a larger number of tubes connected in parallel.

The circuit of the present invention in which a transmitter tube H is keyed is (Fig. i), differs from the previous one in that the T key instead as before between the grid cathode of the modulation tube M between the grid anode of the same Pipe is placed, either directly or via a resistor. In the open State locks the modulation tube as before, in the keyed state the grille takes, depending on the size of the resistance in front of the key, a positive bias opposite to its cathode, which can be at most equal to the anode voltage itself. In this state the tube naturally has a much smaller internal resistance, so that you can get by with a smaller number of probe tubes. Also lies the push button relay to earth, which is particularly desirable because of readjustment during operation is. Even if the grid and anode are directly short-circuited, only a small amount flows Amount of the total grid direct current to be scanned over the key, so that too large outputs can be keyed with small relays.

The same with push-button switching is also with sound emitting with oscillating Modulation tube possible (Fig. 2); only in this case there is the grid DC resistance R of the oscillating modulation tube, instead of at the cathode as usual, at the anode of the modulation tube must be so large that it flows through it Grid direct current the anode voltage is compensated.
