Description
Process for the continuous production of dry sodium sulfate from Glauber's salt It is known that Glauber's salt presents great difficulties in drying to sodium sulfate in that it smears and forms lumps. It is known that Na2S04. 1o H20 (Glauber's salt) when heated to 3 a, 4 ° C anhydrous sodium sulphate precipitates, which - can be dried without difficulty. The following method makes use of this known fact.
In rotating filters known per se , in the filter trough from which the filter drum sucks its material, the continuously introduced Glauber's salt is heated by conventional means, or it is supplied to it already heated. The anhydrous sodium sulphate which separates out above 3 a, 4 ° C is prevented from settling on the ground by a stirrer known per se in the filter trough. This mixture of mother liquor and anhydrous sodium sulfate is sucked off on the rotating filter. The filter cake, consisting of anhydrous sodium sulfate, is brought, after removal of the filter drum, this is done in a known manner ü b -lichem paths to a drying drum where there is no difficulty in the above-mentioned type more during drying, it does not smear more, that it can even be dried in cell dryers.
With this combined process, it is possible to eat without difficulty To dehydrate large amounts of Glauber's salt and anhydrous sodium sulfate on continuous To make ways.
