Description

Method of producing autotypes Addendum to patent 45o 7o8 The idea of the invention of the main patent 450 708 is based essentially on the fact that by copying different grids or scale grids a convenient breakdown of the tones of the semitone negative is achieved. The main patent made use of copying for this purpose a raster on the undeveloped negative, on the other hand the copying of a raster on the etching plate. Thorough tests have shown that handling is even easier is when both rasters are placed in front of a slide on the photographic one Plate, in which case already on the photographic plate the final dismantling takes place. Of course, then it is the copying of the slide only through one of the grids used, otherwise through the bright ones Tones of the slide too much light would penetrate and the corresponding parts of the negative would not be disassembled, but would be completely opaque and therefore incapable of copying. The second grid can then, after removal of the slide, onto the free photographic Plate to be copied. But it is not absolutely necessary, it can be at the second grid the method of the first copy can be repeated to avoid unwanted Avoid line splitting. In this case, both are exposed Copies sometimes with an upstream slide, a positive print or another optical image, partly without em * e such an upstream connection.

The course of such a copying is described as an exemplary embodiment.

The copying takes place in an ordinary copier frame, in the a scale-like dismantled line grid and a photomechanical plate are placed, layer by layer to avoid any scattering of light. In front of the line grid a slide is placed and on it with a point-shaped lamp as possible, the must have a greater distance from the copy frame in order to obtain a clear reproduction of the To achieve slides exposed. After this main exposure the slide becomes positive removed and a post exposure made by the grid alone, whereby the unexposed areas of the photomechanical plate covered with thin lines will. The same manipulation then takes place again with a graduated grid, whose lines run perpendicular to the lines of the grid used first, where Care must be taken that the slide and photomechanical plate are accurate show the same orientation to each other as with the first copy. After development shows the light cross, the shadow point formation.
