Ferner muß, damit ein Spiralbohrer die wirtschaftlich größte Leistung erzielt, die Zerspannungsarbeit gleichmäßig auf beide Schneidlippen b, b verteilt werden, d. h. es müssen die Winkel α, α, welche die Schneidlippen b, b mit der Bohrerachse bilden, gleich groß sein. Aus dieser Forderung folgt, daß die Schneidlippen b, b gleich lang sein müssen.
